The Secrets To Glowing, Youthful Skin!

Hand MD

It seems that with each year that ticks by, our skin shows signs of our age more and more, and we’re not just talking about your hands. As we know, thanks to our high school biology class, skin is the largest organ so we really should be treating it better than we do. We’re going to give you some tips on how to keep your skin glowing and youthful at any age!

Glowing Skin Tip: Use Sunscreen

SPF

We can say it over and over and over again, but sun protection is huge when it comes to keeping your skin youthful, and not to mention to help prevent skin cancers. We recommend using SPF 30 or higher and remember to apply it everyday at least 30 minutes prior to going outside. Then, reapply every 2 hours or after getting wet!

Avoid Smoking!

I don’t think we need to get into how dangerous smoking can be to your overall health, it can cause your skin to age at a rapid rate - so, it’s best to quit now, or at least start with cutting back!

Glowing Skin Tip: Stay Hydrated

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

We all know that we should drink at least eight glasses of water every day for overall good health but, if we don't drink enough it also causes our skin to get tired, dry, and flaky - Which can make us look old. So, trade your glass of wine in for a glass of water (as often as you can).

You Are What You Eat

Choosing foods that are high in antioxidants, healthy fats & omegas are crucial to the health of your skin and the aging process. Stock up on foods like fish, berries and avocados (just to name a few) to fuel your body and your skin. Check out this blog article for more!

Tips For Glowing Skin: Get Enough Sleep

Catch Some Z’s

Now that Game of Thrones has officially ended, put down your remote and tuck yourself into bed, beauty rest is real. While we sleep our bodies boost blood flow to our skin, so if you get those 8 hours you can wake up to glowing skin!

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

Water can help to hydrate your skin from the inside out, but regardless of how much water you drink daily, you can’t skimp on applying moisturizer. Using body washes, bath bombs, and the weather can all affect the outer layer of our skin causing it to look and feel dry which speeds up the aging process by the way. Make sure to apply a hydrating moisturizer daily in the morning and evenings!
